International Conference
“Traditional Medicine for Global Well-Being: Science, Policy and Practice”

Traditional medicine systems play a significant and growing role in promoting health and well-being across the globe. These systems encompass a wide range of knowledge, skills, and practices rooted in the theories, beliefs, and experiences of diverse cultures. They are used to maintain health and to prevent, diagnose, and treat physical and mental illnesses.

Traditional medicine can effectively complement modern healthcare systems and contribute to achieving universal health coverage. Its global recognition and integration support more holistic, person-centered approaches to health and healing.

As we convene for this international conference, we acknowledge the rich diversity of traditional medicine practices and their relevance to global well-being. There is much we can learn from one another—through science, policy, and practice—to advance traditional medicine in ways that are evidence-informed, culturally respectful, and sustainable.

We hope this conference will serve as a timely and vital platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and educators from around the world to exchange scientific knowledge, share policy experiences, and explore practical innovations in the field of traditional medicine. We are especially proud to showcase Mongolia’s rich heritage of Buddhist and indigenous therapeutic traditions, and to foster meaningful dialogue on how these time-honored practices can contribute to the evolving global health agenda.
